This practice chipping game is well made, has a very aesthetically pleasing appearance, nice quality nets to catch your balls as you hit them into the holes, has easy to read scoring on the foam pad surface, and is quick and easy to get up and going. However, this likely is best to play as a game rather than a serious practice tool if you are a beginner or novice golfer.This is very quick and easy to set up as it took about 5 minutes out of the box to get going for the first time. This comes with the board, 12 foam balls of different colors, and a small hitting surface.The board is made from wood that has a nice finish to it and the legs simply rotate up and down allowing you to set up and put away the board effortlessly. The surface of the board is made from a soft foam while having a sharp and pleasing design and color. The holes are clearly marked and the scores for each hole is easy to read. Each hole has a thick and durable netting to catch the balls to make scoring easy. The only issue I really see is that the wood is the not the most robust meaning it can be easy to dent or chip the wood.This also comes with 2 sets of 6 green and white foam balls that look fantastic complete with branding, great coloring, and dimples. These foam balls have a nice density making them great to hit with a real golf club and because they are foam also means you could bring this game inside the house without fear of the balls damaging objects. The foam balls are great for the game aspect, however, they likely would not work well for the practice aspect of this chipping board as wind will greatly affect the path of the foam balls. You can use real golf balls on this board, however, you run the risk of denting or damaging the wooden sides. The pad on the surface can absorb most of the brunt of a real ball, but cannot absorb the entire force, especially from heavily lofted shots.This set does come with a chipping surface. This is made from artificial turf-like material that creates a nice surface to hit from. This claims to be “weighted” but really it has a light-weight foam board underneath to help keep this surface in place. This doesn’t always stay put as you hit making this chipping surface the weakest element of this set.Using this as a game is downright fun. The fact that there is skill and a bit of luck involved makes this very entertaining for golfers and non-golfers alike. It’s a lot of fun to make your own rules and even your own scoring. Also adjusting the distance you shoot from can add an additional challenge.While you can use this for practice, it will be most effective for decent golfers using real balls and forego the chipping surface as you would be able to practice specific landing locations at different distances. The foam balls still work, but any wind will alter the path of the ball much more drastically than any real golf ball.Overall, this chipping board game is a lot of fun and is actually made quite well. It is very easy to set up and get going and the board itself look aesthetically pleasing. The wood board is nice for solid support but the wood isn’t the most robust meaning it can and will dent or chip if hit with harder objects. Playing this as a game is very entertaining with groups, but serious golfers can use real balls to practice location shots.Ultimately, we love pulling this out and playing with family and friends. We have even brought this into our garage during rainy get togethers where it worked great indoors.The final warning is make sure if you have a dog not to let them get ahold of the balls as they will rip them apart in seconds!
What a great idea on how to practice your golf chipping and fun gameplay with family and friends too. It was very easy to assemble and very good quality. What a great value as my teenage kids are having so much fun playing with this golf chipping game board. Great for indoors and outdoors as the balls are soft but hard enough to feel good when you chip.

I started golfing about three years ago (at 65). I am still pretty bad – mostly I am inconsistent. I’ll hit a great 200-yard drive on one hole, and top the ball for 15 yards on the next. I still don’t keep score other than playing a scramble with my wife. I am a little more consistent with my irons, but still a hack.So, I have been practicing my chipping in the backyard with some foam golf balls. Using this game board is a great improvement over trying to hit a patch of sunshine – which was what I was previously targeting. However, with my lack of skill – I am only hitting the board about 5% of the time. Of those, only about 25% go in one of the nets. This was at about an 8-yard distance from the board. So, at this point it gives me something better to shoot at, but hitting it is too difficult to allow me to use it as a competitive game. OK…enough about how bad a golfer I am.The board itself it a great idea. The board is well constructed of nice quality wood with a good Mahogany colored finish – though the one I received has a bit of a finish flaw in the corner (see photos). I initially thought it was shipping damage, but the box seems to be intact, and the flaw does not seem to be a result of any shipping damage. I was able to use a furniture touch-up pen to hide this flaw, though it was just aesthetic and didn’t affect the functionality at all.The nets are a good quality, attached on the underside with a screwed down wooden ring to keep them secured (see photo). The corners are reinforced to provide additional support for the legs which are hinged with a good-sized bolt. The surface of the board seems very durable with a dense foam backing to minimize ball bounce.The hitting mat was nice, but could benefit from some mechanism to anchor it (especially for outside use). The foam golf balls, are nice but unremarkable. Using the included foam balls did provide me the opportunity to compare hitting foam golf balls versus standard balls. I was surprised by the difference. I get much more loft and distance with the foam balls. So, while the foam balls are much safer, I wouldn’t recommend using them as a practice aid; they are better suited for when you use this as a stand-alone game. The box it came in is heavy duty enough to keep for storing the set.

Beginner golfer but I was told I am a pretty good chipper. I wanted to try this out for additional practice at home.This chipping board feels good right out of the box. It is wood construction and reminds me off a good corn hole board. The only thing that needs improvement is the mat used for chipping which is flimsy and moves around. It takes about 5 minutes to setup the first time and even faster each time after. The wood does chip since it’s darker brown so be careful of it hitting concrete or hard walls especially if you have young kids who may drag it around.Otherwise, it’s a good beginner board for chipping at home. No frills and gets the job done.

This golf chipping board works great in my golf room. We chip to it instead of only hitting the net. Makes practice more like a game so the kids stay in it longer. Easy to set out and put away. Ok, this is fun. I initially saw this as a practice board but no no, use this on bbq days. More guest wanted this over Cornhole. Everyone wanted to see if they can score a shot. Its actually skill shots and so it makes it a great challenge game. The board is heavy enough to last. Its wood, but not too heavy to drag, you can carry it. You will need putters. You get the board, a chipping mat and foam balls. Buy yourself 2 sets of different colored putters and have a game with friends, loser makes the beer run lol.Great value, priced right for the construction of the board.

Ordered this: Palladium Golf Chipping Game Board - Solid Wood Golf Game Cornhole Set - for my son and my dad to play with when hanging out at the lake in the summer. They are both really into golf so the combo is perfect. If I were to play it would be completly random which hole the ball went into, I would just be happy to hit the board from a few feet away.Build quality is excellent, wooden style is much better than the aluminum or PVC builds like on the chipping mat I ordered. Not overly heavy either but still made with wood. Easy to assemble and a fun game for anyone who enjoys golf.As far as value I like it a lot better with the current 20% off coupon... The professional packaging and build quality deserves 5 stars in my opinion.
